« If there is a book to be read to know more on the Denderah zodiac, it is that one of Alexander N.Isis..«
To all those who were lucky enough to see the zodiac of Denderah exposed to the ceiling of the room number 12a of the Department of Egyptian Antiquities tin the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, and to those who had the privilege to visit the temple of Denderah in Egypt taking their time : I am delighted to present an author who will reveal to you the many details of this zodiac, unique in the history of Ancient Egypt and that today current Egyptology has not yet been able to discover or disclose to the public.
Having more than a passion for Ancient Egypt and its myriad of secrets that have not been discovered yet , for over twenty years I travel in the whole of Egypt in search ofknowledge and wonders that this ancient civilization has given us through its monuments and artefacts. I came back dozens of times in the most remote sites and each time I detect and understand more. What a pleasant surprise to find in reading the research of Alexandre N.Isis the same passion that drives me, namely the quest for the truth in History and Culture in the country of Osiris.
The general public, without knowing it, is often faced to two different trends in Egyptology, the one frozen in the 18th century dictates and thus renouncing to any changes and to permanent questioning even during ongoing new discoveries, and the other one I prefer with Alexandre N.Isis who is trying to fight so that humanity can preserve its right to know and appreciate the true value of the stone heritage that we have inherited from the ancient Egyptians.
This book about the circular zodiac of Denderah by Alexandre N.Isis is not another book on this subject, not everyone has the quality of investigation of the author I am pleased to write the foreword. If there is a book to be read for more information on the Denderah zodiac, it is that one of Alexander N.Isis. Only Alexandre N.Isis takes us on a journey through time, with a magnifying glass and a telescope to help us discover an Egyptian sky that it was time to know in all its clarity and not distorted by bad translations and hurried interpretations.
Alexander N.Isis will guide you in a fabulous journey, that of the discovery of the Zodiac still when it was still insertedinto the ceiling of the chapel of Osiris on the terrace of the Temple of Denderah or rather we should say, of the Astronomical Observatory of Denderah. And you will learn learn that with Bonaparte’s expedition, it was not the General Desaix who brought the zodiac to France in 1821, year of death of Napoleon Bonaparte, because Desaix died on June 14 1800, but a citizen named: Lelorrain who undertook to bring out this astronomical jewel.
In this Egypt of the English protectorate time , you will read in detail and pictures in this book, how, unbeknownst to all, this extraordinary expedition was conducted informally by the French Citizen, you will read the own report of that man who tooks down the zodiac with the powder of a rifle, the violent extraction damaging the ceiling of the chapel as can be seen still today when visiting the temple.
You will learn how the arrival of the zodiac in Paris angered the Vatican who tried to downplay the importance of this invaluable Egyptian vestige in order it does not question the official dating of the creation of the world written in the Bible. Indeed some scholars, according the arrangement of the constellations in this zodiac of Nitentore, Ta-ynt netert : the name in ancient Egyptian of Denderah site meaning: « She has a divine foundation », began to spread rumors unbearable for ecclesiastical circles, that the zodiac dating goes back much earlier, scientists like Mr Biot advanced dates as even 12,000 years ago.
It is also possible that due to or through this zodiac, France became the first secular country, because if we insisted on bringing the zodiac in Paris, it was for some, with the hope to disprove the version of the « heretic » group of scholars trying to weaken the hold of religion in science. This is a feature that few people know about the Zodiac of Denderah and yet it changed the very face of the world, our world in France where since 1905 was voted the separation of church and state. But industrialization, war, the transition from the nineteenth to the twentieth century came to calm the excitement of what were these new disciplines of Egyptology and archeology, he had to replace the pencil and the Trowel by the gun and cannon so then the twentieth century was born.
The Zodiac of Denderah left the Royal Library to finish in the Louvre, Museum where it was relegated as a curious object but in fact much more interesting than it looked. It is like this that the visitors are discovering it today, in this room 12a, which tries to reconstitute the original room where the zodiac was for over 2000 years Under the hot climate of Egypt.
But alas the reconstruction is full of defects: so much so that nobody noticed that half of a character has disappeared, and yet this character is present on the cast that replaced the original of the ceiling in the observatory of Denderah. Who is this character? How, why, it was deleted, it is also the investigative work of the book of Alexander N.Isis.
And you will also learn, in what direction ithe zodiac should be read in order to understand the true reading code, what it is describing, the mythology it contains but also the historical events he relates, that means the translation of hieroglyphics that are present.
You will also discover how they laugh at you indicating that this Zodiac is telling about just two eclipses, because we should not just look at this disc as the astronomical photograph of a simple point, but look at it more widely encompassing all Egyptian Sciences.
The circular Zodiac of the Temple of Hathor has necessarily been carved before the proposed dates of the two eclipses, especially since other eclipses took place and for the same configuration but astronomically more than two thousand years earlier ! We know that Ancient Egypt had already calculated the distance from Earth to the Sun, all these calculations of Egyptian astronomy also found in the architecture of the Great Pyramid of Giza Plateau, so why a unique circular zodiac in the long history of Egypt? Why the ancient Egyptians would have made a small zodiac of only 160 cm in diameter, whereas there is a huge zodiac down in the Hypostyle Hall? Why the Ancient Egyptian in Ptolemaic times would not have kept a vestige of the early dynasties and inserted it in the walls as is likely the Denderah zodiac ? I noticed personally some older inserted stones in other sections of the temple.
For sure the observatory Temple of Denderah has been built or rebuilt in the Greco-Roman period, according to some cartouches that you see outside the walls but is it everything Inside from the same time ?
The Egyptians of the Ptolemaic Dynasty would they not had the right in memory of their ancestors knowledge to embedd in the Temple Observatory of Denderah, a legacy of them, to show their admiration and filiation ? Because otherwise how to explain that we found the « small » circular zodiac on the roof while all the other zodiacs are rectangular in the temples or tombs? It is also common to find older elements in ancient Egyptian structures as each dynasty proceeded with scrupulous restorations.
Alexandre N.Isis’s book will reveal you with astronomicalevidences that Ancient Egypt knew enough in astronomy to have already known that the Earth is round that it rotates around the sun, that its axis is oblique, that the precession of the Equinoxes exists, and many other details as the azimuthal stereographic vision officially discovered only in 1772 in Switzerland by the mathematician and astronomer Johann Heinrich Lambert in the West.
Alexandre N.Isis also reveals that ancient Egypt already knew 72 of our 88 constellations including the 48 Constellations wrongly attributed to Claudius Ptolemy the Greek astronomer, and the author offers you the egyptian analysis for each constellation.
As the Egyptologist Serge Sauneron emphasized and as the historian Diodorus of Sicily wrote : ” The Ancient Greek civilization existed only because it learnt everything of the civilization of ancient Egypt “. And without the amazing advanced Pharaonic Egypt, we would still see heaven as a strange world, and we could not use the GPS to guide us along unknown paths. The Zodiac of Denderah is in a figurative way, the GPS of humanity, this is what we discover by reading this book.
Alexandre N.Isis’s research work also offers for the first time since more than 2000 years, a truly faithful copy in egyptian colors of the Zodiac of Denderah contrary to the not very accurate copies by the Baron Denon or by the engineers Devilliers and Jollois or by the scientist Jean Baptiste Biot that contain errors of interpretation of the characters but also in the transcription of the hieroglyphs which are not really any more in accordance with those of the original zodiac. Therefore it was not a surprise that its study was neglected.
It is a fact that the graphic work of Alexander N.Isis is absolutely essential and valuable for researchers and posterity. The author has also the merit of having performed in colors of the ancient egyptians, this zodiac scale :1/2 for the public and researchers.I invite you then to use the book “ Thieves of the Secret Stars of the Zodiac of Denderah” as a spaceship to discover the Egyptian stars for a fascinating journey that will certainly help to make you appreciate even more the civilization of Ancient Egypt.
But if you prefer to stay on Earth, just imagine you in Egypt, lying on the warm sand of the desert, near the pyramids, waiting for darkness to fall so that the show of the stars begins as a film on a giant screen and let the author guide you by telling you the amazing true story of the Zodiac of Denderah. If there is a book to be read to know more on the Denderah zodiac, it is that one of Alexander N.Isis.
